San Francisco California-based The Melt is a fast-casual restaurant that, using technology, delivers custom grilled cheese sandwiches that stay hot, and remain melted on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Their Smart Box delivery system has received some well-deserved attention. The Smart Box keeps the grilled cheese combination sandwiches hot and crunchy for 30 minutes or more. This makes downtown delivery of tasty, hot and wholesome lunch food in San Francisco quick and reliable.

The Melt is currently operating 16 locations throughout California. Flip Video founder Jonathan Kaplan leads their management team and their board of directors includes such notables as Ron Johnson, former head of retail operations at Apple, and Michael Mina, a James Beard award winning chef and restaurateur.
